Alkali Activated Materials as an Alternative Cementitious Binders
Abstract
- Cement industry contributes about 8% of global CO2 emissions.
- Replacement of lime-based hydraulic binders (ordinary cement) with SiO2, Al2O3, and CaO-rich alkali-activated materials.
- Different classes of alkali-activated materials (AAMs), typical precursors required for AAMs, and locally available precursors in Saudi Arabia.
- Research activities on AAMs by our research team
