Dr. Muhammad Shafique
Postdoc
City University of Hong
Dr. Muhammad Shafique earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. He earned his master in Smart City and Construction Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Korea. His research mainly focuses on interdisciplinary civil engineering, energy systems, and sustainability. His research interests lie in (1) decarbonization, carbon-neutrality, and sustainable design of energy systems, including biofuels, photovoltaics and battery systems, (2) industrial ecology and life cycle sustainability assessment of transportation systems, (3) Energy & Environmental economics and circular economy. One of his core areas of work includes developing an integrated approach of life cycle assessment and circular economy for sustainable mobility. Looking forward, Dr. Shafique is determined to fight against climate change and reduction in the carbon footprint from the civil and transportation industry as the key considerations while enabling a high level of comfort and well-being for transportation users.
